Description: This session explores the data protection and citation provisions of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), which are essential to fostering innovation and competition in the pesticide market. Attendees will learn: ● How FIFRA supports data protection and registrant rights through data citation mechanisms. ● Why due diligence and understanding EPA’s regulatory framework are critical when preparing applications that rely on data owned by others. ● How tools like NPIRS, ALSTAR, and PRRCS—managed by CERIS—support data access and evaluation, helping applicants assess compensable data and navigate complex compensation negotiations. FIFRA’s data citation provisions are nuanced and impactful. Successful applications hinge on informed decision-making, supported by robust data systems and strategic negotiation. Platforms like NPIRS, ALSTAR, and PRRCS offer critical visibility into compensable data, helping registrants manage risk and optimize outcomes in EPA reviews.
