WEBINAR RECORDING: PFAS—Hemorrhoids or Hernias For AGRO Division Members?

Presented: June 12, 2024

Presenter: Matthew Von Hendy, Owner and Principal, Green Heron Information Services

Moderator: James Schmidt, Associate Director Business Development, Eurofins Regulatory Science Services

Description: This webinar provides an overview of happenings about PFAS chemicals on the regulatory, legal, and business fronts primarily in the US and the EU.   These efforts can be charitably viewed as being ahead of the science but created a lot of uncertainty for both government regulatory agencies and businesses.  We look at some examples of early-implementation.
We also take a closer look at the recently adopted US EPA PFAS rules regarding the establishment of drinking water standards for some PFAS chemicals and the listing of PFOS and PFOE as hazardous substances under CERCLA (Superfund Law) and what this means for chemical manufacturers, suppliers and importers.
Finally, we offer a few suggestions about how a proactive approach to the recent PFAS regulatory efforts may provide companies not only with legal compliance but help improve company operations and brand recognition.
